Work with me

You can work with me in Birkenhead, online, or by phone.

Booking an intro call

I offer a free 15-minute call to new clients. It gives you the opportunity to get a feel for me, and ask questions before you decide whether to book. It also gives me chance to hear what you want to get from counselling. You've read my website and got in touch, so we'll probably be a good fit, but some problems need a specialist. If I don't think I'm the best person to help you I'll be honest about that, and do my best to refer you to someone better suited to what you need.

Attending sessions

Face-to-face sessions take place in a comfortable, private room within Birkenhead Park Counselling Centre:

  • Free on-street parking right outside

  • Next to Birkenhead North Station, 12 minutes by train from Liverpool city centre

  • Lovely rooms, with cosy lighting, that are big enough to make yourself comfortable in

All rooms in Birkenhead Counselling Centre are accessed via a flight of stairs. If you have needs that make that inaccessible to you, please let me know and I will do my best to arrange an alternative venue for your sessions.

Price

After our initial call, tell me if you'd like to attend counselling in-person, online or by phone (you can switch session-by-session). I'll send you a link to confirm the booking for your first appointment.

Sessions last 50 minutes, and cost £55.

Commitment

I commit to providing consistency, and giving you the freedom to do what's right for you.

Counselling works when you commit to the process, and attend regularly. For most people, a minimum of 8 sessions is advisable, but you also need the freedom to 'test out' your counsellor, and make sure I'm a good fit for you. I don't tie you into a contract or block booking. Once we've agreed on a day and time (weekly or every other week) that slot is yours. Each time, you book and pay for just the next upcoming session. I'll hold that slot for you until you tell me you'd like to let it go, or until you miss a session without getting in touch. If you stop booking, I'll try to contact you before giving your appointment time away.

Testimonials

I don't ask my counselling clients for testimonials, but here are a selection of things people have said about my group workshops:

Paula, Counsellor

'Gill is an excellent facilitator, very patient, respectful and dignified in her approach.'

Facebook Review

'Gill led the evening with absolute grace... I'm pretty sure each person in the room had their own unique and meaningful experience. I put that down to how Gill allowed us all to feel comfortable to do what felt right for us. I would recommend a million times over.'

Joe, NHS

'Gill has an epic way of holding a group, l loved it. I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in getting connected to a true sense of self.'
